How We Are Funded

420 Friendly is an independent directory of Australian cannabis and hemp businesses. It is published by a small independent operation based in Queensland, Australia, and funded by paid placements and advertising. It is not owned by, and does not act for, any business listed in the directory.

Listings are free

A basic listing costs nothing. Any Australian business or organisation working in the cannabis or hemp sector can be listed for free. A free listing carries the business name, category, location and public contact details, and appears in search, on the map and on its category and state pages. Industry associations and research organisations are free permanently. Posting a job and subscribing to email updates are currently free.

What we sell

Two things: paid listing placements and banner advertising. A paid placement adds a logo, a business description and clickable contact buttons to a listing, marks it with a “Sponsored” badge, and lists it above standard entries on its category and state pages. Rates vary by directory; current rates and what each tier includes are published on the advertise page. Banner sponsorships place an advertisement across the directory. Payments are processed by Stripe, which holds the card details — we never see a card number.

What money cannot buy

Payment buys visibility, nothing else. It never buys a favourable description, a change to another business’s record, or any say over editorial content — advertisers do not influence what this directory publishes. In the Clinics and Producers directories, placement is not for sale at any price: those pages are ordered alphabetically for every listing, paid or not. We do not publish reviews, ratings, testimonials or ranked “best of” lists, and we will not accept them from anyone, paid or not. There are no affiliate links on this site and we earn no referral commissions.
